[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Jung-yoon] Healthcare workers, pharmacy staff, and dialysis patients will receive the AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine.
The COVID-19 Vaccination Response Promotion Team announced on the 16th, "Pre-booking will be accepted from the 19th for healthcare workers, pharmacy staff, and dialysis patients, and vaccinations are scheduled to begin on the 26th."
Due to concerns over rare blood clot formation, the administration of the AstraZeneca vaccine has been delayed for some, pushing the originally planned start date of the 23rd back by three days.
According to the supplementary materials for the second quarter COVID-19 vaccination implementation plan announced by the Promotion Team on the 2nd of this month, the estimated number of healthcare and pharmacy workers is 385,000, and chronic kidney disease patients (dialysis patients) number 92,000. All of them will receive the AstraZeneca vaccine, and those under 30 years old are excluded from vaccination according to government policy.
Vaccinations will be conducted at designated entrusted medical institutions in each city, county, and district.
