[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Sang-hyun] On the 16th, Park Il-ho, mayor of Miryang City, Gyeongnam, participated in the 'Overcome Low Birthrate Together! National Po(4)ham Relay Challenge' campaign.
This challenge is a national participation campaign that actively encourages people to work together, care together, protect together, and create a happy Korea together through solidarity and cooperation to overcome the national crisis caused by low birthrate.
Po(4)ham contains a double meaning with the number '4', indicating the term 'together' repeated four times, and the Chinese character po (包) meaning inclusion.
Starting in Chungcheongnam-do in February, Mayor Park, who joined the challenge on the 9th upon the nomination of Han Jeong-woo, mayor of Changnyeong County, said, "Amid the deepening low birthrate and aging population, we will strive to create a society where it is good to have and raise children by improving the environment for marriage, childbirth, and child-rearing, and a society where everyone is happy together."
Mayor Park nominated Hwang Geol-yeon, chairman of the Miryang City Council, as the next participant in the relay and urged him to join.
