[Asia Economy Reporter Kum Bo-ryeong] Former Democratic Party lawmaker Geum Tae-seop expressed his impression on the 16th after an unexpected meeting with former People Power Party emergency committee chairman Kim Jong-in, saying, "I listened to good words and came out."
In a phone call with Asia Economy on the same day, former lawmaker Geum said, "I often visited and listened to Chairman Kim," adding, "Since he is a respected person, I meet and consult with him when I have concerns or something happens." Former lawmaker Geum and former Chairman Kim met at a hotel in Jung-gu, Seoul, in the morning and talked for about an hour.
Regarding the content of the conversation that took place that day, he drew a line, saying, "It is a personal meeting, so it is difficult to talk about the details." However, former lawmaker Geum explained, "He is a senior in politics and a great senior, so I shared my thoughts, and I heard about what to do going forward."
He also left open the possibility of meeting again in the future. Former lawmaker Geum said, "I told him I would visit often," adding, "There is no set date for when we will meet again."
Meanwhile, it is known that the meeting was arranged through a proposal from former Chairman Kim. After the meeting with former lawmaker Geum, former Chairman Kim told reporters, "I asked to meet today to thank him for campaigning for Seoul Mayor Oh Se-hoon during the recent by-election."
