[Golf Topic] 'Former Golf Queen' Sorensdam "This Time LET Appearance~"

[Asia Economy Reporter No Woo-rae] ○…‘Former Golf Queen’ Annika Sorenstam (Sweden, photo) will participate in the Ladies European Tour (LET).

LET announced on the 16th (Korean time) that "Sorenstam is scheduled to compete in the Scandinavian Mixed, held for four days from June 10 in Gothenburg, Sweden." It will be her first time competing in her home country Sweden in 13 years since 2008. This tournament features 156 players, 78 men and 78 women, competing on the same golf course for rankings. It is jointly organized by the European Tour and LET, newly established last year but postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, making this year its inaugural event.

Sorenstam expressed, "I am very excited to compete in my home country for the first time in 13 years," and added, "I am also extremely happy to participate in this historic mixed-gender tournament." Sorenstam ranks third all-time with 72 wins on the LPGA Tour. She has earned Player of the Year eight times, led in scoring average six times, and topped the money list eight times. In March, she demonstrated her competitive strength by advancing to the final round at the Gainbridge LPGA.
