Gap in Vehicle Evaluation Between Owner and Non-Owner Customers Widens... Strengthening Test Drive Events and More
[Asia Economy Reporter Yoo Je-hoon] Renault Samsung Motors is strengthening customer experience events. This is a measure to reduce the gap in favorability between customers who have experienced their vehicles and those who have not.
According to a customer survey conducted by Renault Samsung on the 16th, there was a significant difference in vehicle evaluations between owners and non-owners of Renault Samsung vehicles. This contrasts with major competitors' models, where such gaps hardly appear in related surveys.
In the actual survey, which evaluated the vehicle image across 30 items, Renault Samsung owner customers gave higher scores than non-owner customers in all categories. Representative items showing the largest score differences include "a vehicle that represents me," "a vehicle that meets my expectations," "a vehicle of good quality," and "a vehicle offering user-friendly solutions."
Renault Samsung views this gap as related to whether or not customers have actually experienced the vehicle. In fact, during the electric vehicle Renault Zoe experience event held at the end of last month, 23% of customers expressed their intention to purchase the Zoe.
Accordingly, Renault Samsung plans to actively work on reducing this gap by increasing direct experience events for its vehicles. First, at the Shinsegae Simon Premium Outlets, weekend events are being held where customers can directly experience several models including the Renault Zoe. On the 17th-18th and 24th-25th at the Yeoju branch, customers can experience the Zoe and QM6, while at the Paju branch, the Zoe, QM6, XM3, and Master camping car are available for test drives.
At Renault Samsung dealerships nationwide, a New QM6 test drive event is ongoing until the 26th. Among customers participating in the test drive event, 200 will receive a camping item package worth approximately 150,000 KRW (including an X Grill brazier, Stanley coffee dripper set, and hammock stand full set) or a one-night stay voucher for a suite at Sono Belle Hotel & Resort. Customers who purchase the QM6 after participating in the event will be separately entered into a drawing to win a premium tent worth about 1.2 million KRW and a one-night stay voucher for Signiel Seoul (Han River view) including a dinner voucher for a family of four (2 winners).
In addition, Renault Samsung is promoting an experience roadshow to encourage electric vehicle adoption in cooperation with the Korea Electric Vehicle Association and local governments nationwide, and is also planning a nationwide test drive event for the Zoe targeting general customers.
Kim Tae-jun, Head of Sales at Renault Samsung, said, "Just as you need to try on clothes to know if they suit you well, there are many cases where customers discover new value in Renault Samsung vehicles by experiencing them directly." He added, "We encourage customers who have not yet considered Renault Samsung in their vehicle purchase list or who are uncertain about the vehicle to participate in the various experience events prepared by Renault Samsung."
