Dong-Ah Institute of Media and Arts (President Choi Yong-hyuk) announced that it has been selected as a university for the ‘2021 Content One Campus Construction and Operation’ project organized by the Korea Creative Content Agency.
This project aims to cultivate convergent creative talents through innovative industry-academia-research-government collaboration projects. Dong-Ah Institute of Media and Arts submitted the task titled ‘Interactive Media Performance for Performing Arts Content’ and plans to create media performance works combining performing arts and media art, which will be showcased on YouTube.
Professor Choi Hyuk-jae of the Digital Video Design Department at Dong-Ah Institute of Media and Arts, which is in charge of the project, stated, “Our university’s Digital Video Design Department and Performing Arts Division will plan and produce performance content, and IMFine Co., Ltd., a company specializing in the development of interactive content for exhibitions, will provide technical support to carry out the project.”
The Korea Creative Content Agency plans to provide approximately 180 million KRW in funding to Dong-Ah Institute of Media and Arts and IMFine for this project.
Professor Choi Hyuk-jae expressed his ambition, saying, “We will develop new convergent content that combines traditional performance methods with media art and build an infrastructure that enables students to cultivate their abilities as creative convergent content producers and actors.”
The selection evaluation committee, composed of experts from industry, academia, and research, commented, “We conducted a suitability evaluation based on criteria such as the expertise of the executing institution, participating personnel, task content, expected outcomes, and social value. The projects from industry, academia, and research were fairly reviewed and judged based on their understanding of the project and expertise, as well as the relevant educational programs and professional personnel.”
