FreshEasy Launches B2B Exclusive Meal Kit

[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Hye-seon] Fresh Easy announced on the 16th that it will launch B2B-exclusive meal kits that self-employed business owners can use easily and economically.

Fresh Easy's B2B-exclusive meal kits are products launched to help self-employed business owners who are not part of franchises efficiently operate their stores in the self-employment market, which accounts for one-fifth of all employed workers in South Korea. Through the B2B-exclusive meal kits, pure self-employed business owners can conveniently purchase and use the ingredients needed for menu composition without the logistics services of franchise headquarters.

The B2B-exclusive meal kits are products sold in bundles with ingredients preprocessed at Fresh Easy's fresh home meal replacement (HMR) specialized production facility, individually packaged in single servings so they can be cooked immediately without additional preparation. By minimizing the processes from raw material portioning to processing, they offer advantages such as reduced cooking time and labor costs, and the small-packaged products can be used according to order volume, allowing economical management of ingredients without waste.

The newly launched products consist of a total of 14 types: five types of soup, stew, and sauce including kimchi jjigae and doenjang jjigae, which consumers frequently order with meals; three types of packaged meat for stews; four types of marinated meat such as dakgalbi and so bulgogi, which are popular side dishes; and two vegetable and seafood kits that can be used in all recipes. Self-employed stores can combine the ordered ingredients according to recipes to easily present high-quality menus, thereby increasing the variety of menus and securing additional sales.
