Set Up on 3rd Floor of Mapo Community Sports Center, 195 Residents Vaccinated on First Day... Full Vaccination Process Pre-Trial Conducted, On-Site District Mayor's Office Operated Together
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Mapo-gu (Mayor Yoo Dong-gyun) has established a 'COVID-19 Vaccination Center' at the Mapo-gu Community Sports Center and began operations on the 15th.
On the day, Mayor Yoo Dong-gyun volunteered at the COVID-19 Vaccination Center, sweating as he pushed wheelchairs and assisted.
The Mapo-gu Vaccination Center, set up on the 3rd floor of the Mapo-gu Community Sports Center with an area of 1,490㎡, is equipped with spaces such as waiting rooms, preliminary examination rooms, vaccination rooms, and observation rooms to ensure smooth vaccinations.
The district will first administer Pfizer vaccines to approximately 19,500 people, including seniors aged 75 and older, residents, users, and workers of elderly facilities.
On the first day of vaccination, the 15th, a total of 195 residents were vaccinated, and the district plans to expand the capacity to a maximum of 600 people per day, considering future vaccine supply.
On the 9th, the district conducted a simulation drill assuming an actual vaccination situation to ensure there were no issues with vaccine administration, reviewing the entire center operation process in advance.
Additionally, during the operation period of the vaccination center, the district has set up and operates an on-site mayor’s office within the center to listen more closely to residents' voices on-site.
This aims to implement open administration by reflecting the diverse opinions of residents who will visit the center for vaccination.
Based on the idea of Mayor Yoo Dong-gyun, who values communication, the office plans to address and resolve resident-centered proposals ranging from minor inconveniences felt by residents to local issues.
Mayor Yoo, who stayed at the on-site mayor’s office on the first day of operation and frequently assisted residents with vaccinations, also expressed anticipation for future meetings with residents on-site.
Mayor Yoo Dong-gyun stated, “We plan to mobilize all administrative resources to ensure residents can complete safe and swift vaccinations,” and added, “When it is your turn for vaccination, please participate with confidence and help overcome COVID-19.”
