[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-woo] Is there something you want to do again after passing 'Life 50'?

A 'university' designing the second act of life through healthy urban agriculture has opened its doors, beckoning the 'graying' newcomers.

Shilla University (President Kim Chung-seok) Lifelong Education Center announced on the 16th that it held the '50+ Life Redesign University Urban Agriculture Practical Education 3rd Term Entrance Ceremony' on April 10th at the Future Aviation Convergence Hall on campus.

The event was attended by Choi Kwang-jun, head of Shilla University Lifelong Education Center, university officials, trainees, instructors, and representatives of graduates.

Hosted by Busan City, the '50+ Life Redesign University' is an educational training project to help the 50+ generation (ages 50 to 64) prepare for their second act of life and to foster a healthy aging society.

Shilla University, the entrusted institution of the '50+ Life Redesign University,' has operated various programs themed around 'urban agriculture.'

It has intensively provided education in specialized fields that city residents rarely encounter, such as beekeeping, ginseng cultivation, and orchid cultivation. Practical training using dedicated campus gardens was emphasized to enhance educational effectiveness.

A Shilla University official said, "From April to August, over five months, we plan to conduct various programs including theoretical education to build basic agricultural knowledge, garden experience, crop cultivation, product evaluation meetings, and field trips."

They added, "We will nurture urban agriculture experts, support trainees to obtain urban agriculture coordinator qualifications, and expand educational outcomes."
