[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Soyoung] Food columnist Hwang Kyo-ik openly criticized the actions of hardline pro-Moon Jae-in supporters and argued that the so-called 'Munpa' should be disbanded.

On the 15th, Hwang wrote on his Facebook, "Among some Moon Jae-in supporters, there are groups acting collectively online," adding, "They call themselves Munpa, but they are thoroughly trampling on the Moon Jae-in spirit of 'People First'."

He pointed out, "Their most notable characteristic is severe verbal abuse," saying, "Their insults are worse than those of the Taegeukgi Unit and include inhumane slurs comparable to Ilbe level. Not only do they do this in news comments or internet forums, but they also send direct messages or emails to their targets."

He continued, "Their existence was revealed during Moon Jae-in's presidential campaign, and at that time, there was already talk that 'Munpa will ultimately kill Moon Jae-in,'" expressing concern, "I understand that many of them are members of the Democratic Party of Korea, but if left unchecked, they will kill not only Moon Jae-in but also the Democratic Party."

Hwang stated, "Munpa is a group that insults people in Moon Jae-in's name, and their behavior is beyond mere criticism or blame," emphasizing, "No matter how much politics is a rough fight, there is a line that must be respected. They have crossed that line by far. They must be disbanded immediately."

In response, former Dongyang University professor Jin Joong-kwon shared Hwang's post and wrote, "Why all of a sudden? It's scary."
