Meeting with District Mayor Kim Byungnae to Donate Goods Worth 10 Million Won
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Seon-gang] Choi Yang-rak and Paeng Hyun-sook have embarked on a charitable sponsorship to ease the meal worries of elderly people living alone in Nam-gu, Gwangju.
On the 15th, according to Nam-gu (District Mayor Kim Byeong-nae), a delivery ceremony for the "Han Food Company Geubap-e Iban-chan Love Side Dishes" was held.
The ceremony was attended by District Mayor Kim Byeong-nae, the couple Choi Yang-rak and Paeng Hyun-sook, Park Seok-hee, head of Geubap-e Iban-chan Gwangju branch, and Choi Yong-seok, CEO of BK Food. The couple donated home-cooked love side dishes worth 10 million won to Mayor Kim Byeong-nae in kind.
The home-cooked love side dishes donated by the Paeng couple consist of a side dish set with a total of six food items: two main dishes, three side dishes, and one soup dish, which are sold on the market for 25,000 won per set.
Each set is designed for two people and can provide about a week's worth of meals. The couple plans to provide home-cooked side dish sets to 17 elderly people living alone in the district through a delivery service for the next six months.
Currently, the couple Choi Yang-rak and Paeng Hyun-sook operate the Gwangju regional Korean food brand "Geubap-e Iban-chan" in Gangbuk-gu, Seoul, and effectively serve as ambassadors for this brand.
The reason the couple made this charitable donation to elderly people living alone in the district was that they readily accepted a donation proposal from a representative of Geubap-e Iban-chan in Nam-gu, who approached them for social contribution activities ahead of a fan signing event.
The couple Choi Yang-rak and Paeng Hyun-sook stated, "Sharing delicious food with good neighbors has been our traditional custom, and we are very grateful for the opportunity to participate in such a meaningful cause."
District Mayor Kim Byeong-nae said, "We are very thankful that this celebrity couple, known as a loving pair, personally participated in social contribution activities for elderly people living alone in the district, and we expect this to greatly help promote a culture of donation."
