[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] On the 15th, Geochang-gun, Gyeongnam announced that Deputy Governor Choi Young-ho visited the project site within the Jukjeon Village urban regeneration district and the Comprehensive Social Welfare Center (planned project application district).
Jukjeon Village was previously selected as a target area for the Urban Regeneration New Deal project and is set to begin full-scale work starting this year.
The Comprehensive Social Welfare Center is planning to apply for a project to transform the facility into one that enhances convenience for residents and supplies living SOC through the construction of a new parking lot and the renovation of a small park.
In particular, the public art project exhibited throughout the Jukjeon Village urban regeneration district was promoted to foster residents' cultural and artistic enjoyment and create cultural spaces through the installation of public art works and community programs.
Since the project's completion in February, various artworks have been displayed throughout Jukjeon Village, revitalizing the community.
Deputy Governor Choi, who visited the site that day, said, “I imagined the before and after of the urban regeneration project by directly visiting the Jukjeon Village public art project site, the starting point of Geochang urban regeneration, and the Comprehensive Social Welfare Center, a representative convenience facility for residents. I hope the urban regeneration project will be successfully promoted with the cooperation of the residents.”
The county plans to open applications for the Comprehensive Social Welfare Center district in April as part of the urban regeneration project, and plans to successively open applications for the Gimcheon district, traditional market district, and others in the second half of the year.
