Vice Chairman Jeong Yong-jin Joins 'Plogging' "Next Participants, Everyone Watching Landers' Fall Baseball Live"

[Asia Economy Reporter Yuri Kim] Chung Yong-jin, Vice Chairman of Shinsegae Group, participated in the 'Korean Plogging Challenge' ahead of Earth Day on April 22.

On the 14th, Vice Chairman Chung posted several photos and a message on his Instagram account, stating, "In celebration of Earth Day, I practiced plogging around Emart Seongsu Branch and its surroundings." Plogging is an environmental protection activity that involves picking up trash while walking or jogging nearby. Vice Chairman Chung joined this plogging challenge after being nominated by Kim Dong-yeon, former Deputy Prime Minister of Economy and Chairman of the nonprofit organization Yukwehan Banlan.

Vice Chairman Chung said, "It was more meaningful to carry the Emart eco-friendly campaign character Tumo shopping bag, inspired by the endangered animal 'sea otter,' and to use plastic upcycling tongs collected through recycling efforts."

He also emphasized ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) management through small actions. He said, "I think the trending topic of ESG management nowadays is not something entirely new but rather the accumulation of small practices."

Vice Chairman Chung nominated Hong Jung-wook, Chairman of Organica, and "everyone who will come to SSG Landers Field from the 145th game this year" as the next participants in the plogging challenge. By proposing that Landers fans join in small actions to solve global environmental issues, he also expressed his determination to advance to the postseason. The number of regular season games in professional baseball is 144.
