Muan-gun, 9 New Public Health Doctors Assigned to Medically Underserved Areas


[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Oh Hwan-joo] Muan County, Jeollanam-do (Governor Kim San) announced on the 15th that it newly assigned 9 public health doctors to local health institutions and Muan Hospital on the 13th to work in public health services in medically vulnerable areas such as rural and fishing villages.


The newly assigned public health doctors include 4 in medicine, 1 in dentistry, and 4 in Korean medicine. During their three-year service period, they will be responsible for local health care as guardians of the health of Muan County residents, providing frontline health services.


In particular, the 4 medical public health doctors are scheduled to carry out COVID-19 vaccination duties for residents aged 75 and older at Muan Sports Park starting from the 15th.


Governor Kim San said, “I hope that the doctors will always provide medical care with a kind attitude to patients and civil petitioners so that residents can comfortably visit health institutions.”


Meanwhile, the total number of public health doctors in Muan County, including the newly assigned personnel, is 25. They are doing their best in medical care on the front lines to promote the health of county residents.
