[Asia Economy Reporter Jeon Jinyoung] A COVID-19 case was confirmed among the on-site attendees of the Emergency Committee meeting of the Democratic Party of Korea, leading to the decision on the 15th to send home all 11 party officials, including the Emergency Committee members.

A party official stated, "We were informed that a photographer covering the Emergency Committee meeting held in Busan yesterday, from the Busan City Party, tested positive for COVID-19," adding, "All attendees have canceled their schedules and decided to undergo COVID-19 testing."

The Emergency Committee Chairman Do Jonghwan, along with members Min Hongcheol, Lee Hakyoung, Kim Youngjin, Shin Hyunyoung, Oh Younghwan, and Park Junghyun, who attended the meeting, will wait at home after taking COVID-19 tests while awaiting the epidemiological investigation results from health authorities.
