Over 110 Youths Aged 34 and Under Participate... A Total of 31 New Jobs Discovered
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Cheol-hyun] The Korea Productivity Center (KPC, Chairman An Wanki) announced on the 15th that it has achieved the discovery of a total of 31 new jobs through the 'New Job Making Lab,' a project aimed at supporting the creation of new jobs for young people.
The New Job Making Lab project is designed to commercialize young people's ideas and create new jobs through this process. It is supported by the Ministry of Employment and Labor and the Human Resources Development Service of Korea, and operated by the Korea Productivity Center.
The Korea Productivity Center selected a total of 111 young people with new job ideas and supported them over the past 10 months with structured job creation, business plan development, basic commercialization education, expert mentoring, and consulting. Through this, new jobs in the 4th industrial revolution type have been created in various fields such as culture and education.
The new jobs discovered through the New Job Making Lab project include independent film media marketer, creator advertising manager, character planner, personal film director, art connector, tea therapist, elderly food developer, amphibian and reptile feed manufacturer, movement therapist, well-dying planner, mixed reality technology transmitter, credit consultant, nano degree coordinator, totaling 31 in all.
The Korea Productivity Center plans to strengthen the scalability of new jobs through collaboration with companies in the future, as well as provide consulting for securing angel investments and acquiring intellectual property rights. They also plan to form communities so that these new jobs can settle as sustainable employment creators.
Kim Sun-mi, a senior researcher at the Job Innovation Center of the Korea Productivity Center, said, "The creation of new jobs is emerging as an alternative to actively generate public and private jobs. Employment creation is possible not only by expanding existing roles but also through new jobs specialized by region and industry." She added, "We will continue to support job creation in various ways, including the development of new jobs."
