LGU+ CEO Hwang Hyun-sik Embarks on First External Event: "I Will Create True Fans"

[Asia Economy Reporter Eunmo Koo] Hwang Hyun-sik, CEO of LG Uplus, who appeared at his first external official event, stated, "The strategic keyword is customer-centric."

On the morning of the 15th, at the 'Rural 5G Shared Usage Plan Announcement' event held at the Kensington Hotel in Yeouido, Seoul, Hwang told reporters, "As I mentioned earlier this year, we will create 'Jjinpan (loyal fans)' centered on customers." This event was his first external official event since his appointment as CEO last month.

Securing Jjinpan has been a strategy emphasized by CEO Hwang since his appointment at the end of last year. This aligns with LG Chairman Koo Kwang-mo's New Year's address this year, where he mentioned, "Let's understand customers in detail, complete their delight, and turn them into fans of LG."

On this day, CEO Hwang expressed his intention to strengthen new businesses by saying, "We will successfully develop new B2B (business-to-business) ventures through 5G." He also reiterated, "I will practice responsible management."

Recently, CEO Hwang demonstrated this commitment to responsible management by purchasing company shares worth 300 million KRW for the first time since his appointment. The day before, LG Uplus disclosed that CEO Hwang purchased 25,000 shares of company stock on the 12th. As a result, including previous purchases, he now holds a total of 45,800 shares.

At last month's shareholders' meeting, CEO Hwang also emphasized, "We will achieve meaningful results in future growth businesses and accomplish management goals to enhance LG Uplus's corporate value," adding, "All employees will take the lead in practicing customer-centricity to secure 'Jjinpan' customers."
