2021 Color Coated Steel Design Trends and New Product Launch
[Asia Economy Reporter Hwang Yoon-joo] Dongkuk Steel has presented 'Life' as the 2021 design concept for Luxteel, its premium architectural color steel sheet brand.
The concept 'Life' proposed by Dongkuk Steel for this year's design reflects the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic, which has limited outdoor activities and increased time spent in residential and office spaces, prompting a reconsideration and reinterpretation of 'buildings' and 'spaces.'
In particular, Dongkuk Steel introduced the digital printing color steel sheet, a new paradigm in the color steel sheet industry, under the theme 'Hi Digital' among the Luxteel product line. Digital printing color steel sheets are innovative color steel sheets that can express designs without limitations on printing rolls and colors, similar to how a color printer develops photos. Dongkuk Steel developed this technology for the first time in Korea in 2018 and began full-scale production in 2020. These products are suitable for exterior materials.
From the 7th for one week, Dongkuk Steel conducted a non-face-to-face online '2021 Color Steel Sheet Design Trend and New Product Presentation' for its employees, announcing the design concepts of its representative premium color steel sheet brands, Luxteel and Appsteel. Dongkuk Steel plans to expand the presentation audience to external customers in the future and sequentially introduce strategic products.
In this presentation, Dongkuk Steel proposed 'Life' as the 2021 design concept for Luxteel, a premium color steel sheet for high-end architectural interior and exterior materials, expressing three themes: ▲Hi digital ▲Touched star ▲Hidden Treasure. The 'Hi digital' theme focused on the design of digital printing color steel sheet products, the 'Touched star' theme emphasized the inherent beauty of steel products by adding texture to vivid patterns, and the 'Hidden Treasure' theme carefully selected and reintroduced designs that had been developed and produced but remained hidden without exposure.
The 2021 design concept for Appsteel, a premium color steel sheet for home appliances, was themed 'Love your Home,' reflecting concerns about lifestyle changes due to COVID-19, and introduced three themes: ▲Soft Modern ▲Urban Forest ▲Dream Glow. The 'Soft Modern' theme features designs with calm and warm colors and textures suitable for home interiors. The 'Urban Forest' theme implements designs that preserve the textures of primitive materials such as stone, plaster, and wood, while the 'Dream Glow' theme showcases laminar product designs applying the latest market trends.
Dongkuk Steel, with the world's top competitiveness in color steel sheets, has been leading color steel sheet design trends and introducing new strategic products through annual presentations since 2019. Starting with this design announcement, Dongkuk Steel plans to continuously strengthen its sales capabilities, including domestic and international non-face-to-face promotions, to reinforce its super-gap strategy in the color steel sheet business.
