[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters (Jeju) Reporter Hwang Jeongpil] Jeju Special Self-Governing Province Fire Safety Headquarters announced on the 15th that it ranked 3rd nationwide in the comprehensive evaluation of the National Happiness Firefighting Policy hosted by the National Fire Agency, receiving the Fire Chief's Institutional Commendation and a financial incentive of 15 million won.
The National Happiness Firefighting Policy evaluation is the most prestigious institutional evaluation hosted by the National Fire Agency, assessing all areas of firefighting work in cities and provinces nationwide over the course of a year.
Jeju Fire Department achieved the distinction of being selected as an excellent institution again following 2019, recognized for efforts such as organizational and personnel expansion, budget increase, and strengthening expertise following the transition to national status last year.
Jeju Fire Department received consistently high scores across 43 indicators in 7 areas, including firefighting policy management, prevention safety and field response management, and rescue and emergency medical services management.
Future strategic initiatives such as the ‘Establishment of an Ultra-Precision Fire Control Integrated Platform’ to secure disaster golden time, operation of a wide-area fire investigation team, and early establishment of the Fire Workplace Council were also recognized as achievements in strengthening organizational capabilities.
Park Geun-o, head of Jeju Fire Safety Headquarters, said, “This evaluation proves that Jeju Fire Department’s safety management capabilities are excellent, and we will continue to do our best to protect the lives and property of the residents.”
