[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Jungnang-gu (Mayor Ryu Kyung-gi) is providing employment incentives to unemployed youth to support young people facing employment difficulties due to COVID-19.
The support targets 6,600 unemployed youth aged 19 to 34 residing in Jungnang-gu who graduated within the last two years.
Specifically, eligible applicants are those born between 1986 and 2002 according to their resident registration, who graduated (including dropout, dismissal, or completion) between 2019 and 2021, and who are unemployed and not enrolled in employment insurance, or if enrolled, work 26 hours or less per week or are short-term workers employed for three months or less. However, current university and graduate students (including those on leave), recipients or applicants of unemployment benefits, and those who participated in the 2020 Youth Job-Seeking Activity Support Fund or the 2021 National Employment Support System (Type 1) are excluded.
Applications can be submitted through the Seoul Youth Portal until May 31. Each applicant will receive 500,000 KRW in the form of a mobile Jungnang Love Gift Certificate, which will be distributed sequentially upon application and can be used at approximately 9,000 Zero Pay affiliated stores within the region.

Mayor Ryu Kyung-gi of Jungnang-gu said, “We hope this support will help young people in their job search activities and revitalize the frozen employment market,” adding, “We will not overlook the difficulties faced by the COVID-19 youth generation and will implement various policies to improve youth employment rates.”
Meanwhile, in addition to the employment incentives, the district plans to provide a total of 19.1 billion KRW in cooperation with Seoul City, including Seoul Economic Vitality Funds and interest-free loans for small business owners, to about 60,000 local businesses and individuals.
