Uljin-gun Supports Low-Income Families with 'Customized Kitchen Sinks'... 25 Households Selected This Year

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Jae-ho] Uljin-gun, Gyeongbuk Province (Governor Jeon Chan-geol) announced on the 15th that it will carry out a customized sink support project for low-income households having difficulties using conventional sinks due to old age, disabilities, and other reasons.


As a special policy project, Uljin-gun will specially manufacture a lower groove for wheelchair users so that they can use the sink while seated in their wheelchair, and for elderly people with bent backs, the sink height will be lowered and customized.


Last year, Uljin-gun supported 52 low-income households for the first time, and this year, by May when the status check for each household is completed, it plans to support 25 households with a project budget of 50 million won.


Jeon Chan-geol, Governor of Uljin-gun, said, "The customized sink support project can directly help the actual lives of low-income households with physical difficulties," and added, "We will continue to strive to improve the quality of life of the residents through on-site administration."
