[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Nosik] Namwon City, Jeonbuk, announced on the 14th that it is making every effort to find hidden population in response to continuous population decline and to maintain a resident population of 80,000+α.
Since last month, the city has been operating a "My Hometown Address Holding Campaign" targeting 178 institutions, 303 companies, and 27 organizations within the jurisdiction, along with an inbound mentoring system to ▲analyze and address reasons for residents not registering their addresses ▲identify the residence status and reasons for non-registration among employees of institutions, organizations, and companies ▲encourage participation in the hidden population finding campaign, while simultaneously implementing inbound support policies and a corporate sponsorship system.
As part of the hidden population finding effort, Vice Mayor Jeon Gyeong-sik recently visited Namwon Office of Education, GMF Co., Ltd., and Kobix Co., Ltd. to promote inbound policies, collect corporate difficulties, and urged them to take an interest in population issues so that even one employee can register their address.
Vice Mayor Jeon Gyeong-sik said, "Maintaining a population of 80,000+α is our city's core goal," and added, "If there are employees among institutions, organizations, and companies who have not registered their addresses, we hope they will actively participate so that our city's population can be maintained."
Meanwhile, Namwon City's population was 80,227 as of last month, a decrease of 435 compared to last year.
