Gwangju Seobu Fire Station Conducts Inspection of Drowning Rescue Equipment Box Operation Status

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Gwangju Seobu Fire Station (Chief Lee Cheontaek) announced on the 14th that it inspected the operation status of drowning rescue equipment boxes in the jurisdiction on the 13th.

In July and August of last year alone, rainfall reached 62% of the total annual precipitation, and as damage occurred due to flooding and drowning accidents in various parts of the Gwangju area, this inspection was carried out to thoroughly prepare in advance.

Through this inspection, the operation status was checked around Pungam Lake Park and Gwangjucheon, including ▲inspection of discoloration and corrosion of exterior manuals and signboards ▲inspection of the condition of loaded equipment such as life jackets, life tubes, and lifelines ▲identification of equipment boxes managed by other agencies ▲identification of equipment boxes to be relocated or newly installed.

A Seobu Fire Station official said, “To prepare for drowning accidents, it is necessary to know the location of nearby equipment boxes and how to use the loaded equipment.”
