[Golf Topic] 61-Year-Old Veteran Ingster Announces Entry for US Women's Open Qualifiers Julie Ingster

[Asia Economy Reporter No Woo-rae] ○…‘Age is just a number’.

This is said about 61-year-old veteran Juli Inkster (USA). On the 14th (Korean time), Golfweek reported that "Inkster has completed her application to participate in the US Women's Open qualifying." The qualifier will be held on the 26th in Half Moon Bay, California, USA. It will be a 36-hole stroke play over two days. Inkster said, "Participating in the qualifier might be a foolish thing, but since the US Women's Open is held close to home, I thought I would regret it if I didn't challenge the qualifier."

Inkster is a ‘living legend’ who has won 31 LPGA Tour titles, including 7 majors. She has not appeared in the US Women's Open main event since finishing tied for 15th at age 54 in 2014. This year’s US Women's Open will be held over four days starting June 3 at the Olympic Club in San Francisco, California. Inkster lives 45 minutes from the venue and knows the course well, having played there about 50 times.
