[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Gwanak-gu (Mayor Park Junhee), the representative communication brand and meeting space between the mayor and residents, ‘Gwanakcheong (聽)’, resumed operations on the 13th and held meetings with 9 residents on the first day.

‘Gwanakcheong (聽)’, the first pledge of the 7th local government administration, had been halted due to the spread of COVID-19 and the Seoul mayoral by-election. However, due to many residents’ requests to meet the mayor directly and the mayor’s commitment to prioritizing communication with residents, it was decided to resume operations on a limited basis under strict quarantine guidelines.

‘Date with the Mayor’ at Gwanakcheong (聽) operates on a one-on-one basis. Group (collective) civil complaints are limited in number according to social distancing guidelines at each stage. The previous schedule of twice a week has been reduced to once a week, every Tuesday from 2 PM to 5 PM.

Mayor Park Junhee said, “Although social distancing and non-face-to-face activities are increasing, what is most important at times like this is to communicate endlessly with residents. Through Gwanakcheong, we will do our best to listen carefully to even the smallest voices of residents and create a leading Gwanak-gu together with the community.”
