Gyeongnam Province Accelerates Green New Deal Social Economy Entrepreneur Development Project


[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kang Sharon] Five social economy enterprises with innovative solutions to social issues such as climate change and environmental problems have been finally selected for the ‘Green New Deal Social Economy Entrepreneur Development Project’ promoted by Gyeongsangnam-do.


The five selected teams are Nutri Industry Co., Ltd., Aibada Cooperative, Tobagi Home Technology Center Co., Ltd., Jinju Woori Food Cooperative Jinju Garden, and Jirisan Good Farmer Cooperative.


The operating organization, Everyone’s Economy Social Cooperative, announced that out of a total of 16 applicant teams, the final five teams were selected based on social mission, social entrepreneurship spirit, business sustainability, and considering the technology and potential to lead Gyeongnam’s Green New Deal sector.


The selected teams will receive an average support fund of 31 million KRW, along with education, mentoring, and expert consultation (consulting) until the end of this year.


Additionally, they will engage in activities as social economy entrepreneurs through future growth support programs and resource linkage among the Gyeongnam social economy network.


Jang Jaehyuk, head of the Gyeongnam Social Economy Promotion Team, stated, “The Green New Deal Social Economy Entrepreneur Development Project will lay the foundation for expanding the Green New Deal centered on the social economy,” and added, “We will strive to solve social problems such as climate crisis, environmental destruction, unemployment, and income polarization caused by industrial structure transformation through the social economy for the safe lives of residents.”
