Statistics Korea Holds Meeting of Regional Statistical Officers for the 2020 Economic Census

[Asia Economy Reporter Jang Sehee] On the 13th, Statistics Korea announced that it held a meeting of provincial statistical officers and a plaque ceremony for the implementation headquarters at the Statistics Center in preparation for the 2020 Economic Census.

At the meeting, Statistics Korea explained the basic direction of the Economic Census, the survey scale, and the main schedule.

The Economic Census, led by Statistics Korea and conducted by local governments, is carried out every five years targeting businesses nationwide to understand the overall structure and distribution of industries.

In particular, this Economic Census plans to introduce sample surveys to reduce respondent burden and conduct internet surveys via mobile devices in parallel to respond to COVID-19.
