Kang Min-seok, spokesperson for the Blue House, said on the 13th, "Chief Secretary Yoo Young-min and Director Lee Ho-seung met with senior executives of Samsung Electronics on the 9th and broadly exchanged views on recent semiconductor issues."

Spokesperson Kang added, "It was a meeting to support and coordinate Samsung Electronics' preparations ahead of the White House virtual meeting attended by U.S. President Joe Biden on the 12th (local time)."

Earlier, President Moon Jae-in instructed Chief Secretary Yoo and Director Lee at the Commerce Day ceremony on the 31st of last month to actively communicate with business leaders. Spokesperson Kang explained, "(Since President Moon's directive) we have strengthened communication with figures in the economic sector and discussed response strategies regarding semiconductor issues."
