[Asia Economy Reporter Park Cheol-eung] The People Power Party expressed strong regret to the Japanese government regarding Japan's discharge of contaminated water from Fukushima and declared "bipartisan cooperation to revoke the decision."
Yoon Hee-seok, spokesperson for the People Power Party, stated in an oral commentary on the 13th, "We express strong regret to the Japanese government for making an irresponsible decision without prior consultation or thorough discussion," adding, "We also demand the immediate withdrawal of the discharge decision, which threatens the safety and lives of our people and causes environmental destruction."
He continued, "The government must activate all possible diplomatic channels and prepare a swift and strict response to Japan's unauthorized discharge."
Spokesperson Yoon emphasized, "The People Power Party will scrutinize whether the government's response during the discharge process was appropriate through urgent inquiries in relevant standing committees. We will also spare no bipartisan cooperation to revoke Japan's discharge decision, which heightens public anxiety."
