[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Seon-gang] Gwangju Metropolitan City announced on the 13th that among the public enterprises under its jurisdiction, the Waterworks, Sewage, Gwangju Urban Railway Corporation, and Gwangju Environment Corporation achieved nationwide top-level results in their respective fields according to the 2020 customer satisfaction survey conducted by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety targeting public enterprise customers.
The public enterprise customer satisfaction survey is part of the local public enterprise management evaluation, conducted annually by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety on 370 local public enterprises nationwide.
This survey was conducted by randomly calling and interviewing customers who used public enterprises from March 2019 to February of last year, investigating satisfaction at each service stage.
In the survey, ▲Gwangju Urban Railway Corporation ranked first among six urban railway operators nationwide with a comprehensive satisfaction score of 89.78 ▲Gwangju Environment Corporation ranked first among five metropolitan environment corporations with 80.55 ▲The directly managed Waterworks and Sewage enterprises scored 79.29 and 75.84 respectively, achieving first place nationwide in their respective fields.
Gwangju Urban Corporation also achieved a high score of 89.80, significantly above the average of 85.92 for all urban development corporations, ranking 4th among 15 corporations.
In particular, among public enterprises, Gwangju Urban Railway Corporation, Gwangju Environment Corporation, and Waterworks have achieved first place for two consecutive years since 2019.
Gwangju City analyzed that these public enterprises earned high scores by promptly and fairly handling tasks from the citizens’ perspective, continuously gaining trust from the citizens.
Mayor Lee Yong-seop said, “The results of this customer satisfaction survey prove that public enterprises are doing their best to gain trust from citizens through innovative management.” He added, “As public enterprises are at the forefront of public service, I will take responsibility as mayor to support institution heads’ sincere innovation efforts and act as a shield so that Gwangju becomes a ‘just and prosperous city’.”
