[Asia Economy Reporter Baek Kyunghwan] Regarding the 'Channel A Incident,' lawyer Lee Yeonju stated that "Prosecutor Han Donghoon subcontracted the investigation to former reporter Lee Dongjae," prompting Prosecutor Han to take legal action. Lee is the author of the book 'Why I Left the Prosecution.'
On the 13th, Prosecutor Han's side announced through the press corps, "We will consider legal measures concerning lawyer Lee and others publicly spreading clear false information at the Democracy Media Citizens' Coalition (MinEonRyeon) debate held the previous day."
MinEonRyeon held a one-year evaluation discussion on the 'Channel A Prosecution-Media Collusion Incident' the previous afternoon, reviewing the progress so far. At this event, lawyer Lee claimed that Prosecutor Han subcontracted the investigation to former reporter Lee, saying, "Former reporter Lee publicizes it in the media, and then the prosecution conducts the investigation. It's very clever."
Lawyer Lee also criticized, "When looking at prosecution-related articles, reporters are like fish in an aquarium fighting over the bait thrown by the prosecution," adding, "The truth lies in the vast ocean, but no one rushes there and comfortably accepts what is given."
Meanwhile, lawyer Lee served in the prosecution for about a year starting in 2001. Her book gained attention when former Minister of Justice Choo Mi-ae was seen reading it at the National Assembly in December last year.
