Hampyeong-gun Launches Livestock Odor Improvement Project with 4.3 Billion KRW Investment

[Hampyeong=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Chunsu] Jeollanam-do Hampyeong-gun announced on the 13th that it will start promoting the '2021 Livestock Odor Improvement Project' beginning with the 'Public-Private Regional Council for Livestock Odor Improvement and Livestock Manure Treatment' held on the 9th at the county office's small conference room.

The Livestock Odor Improvement Project is a Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs public contest project that supports facilities and equipment necessary for ▲improving manure treatment methods ▲reducing livestock odor ▲activating agricultural-livestock recycling to the relevant livestock farms through selection at the city and county regional level.

Since being finally selected for the public contest project in December last year, the county discussed promotion plans for the Livestock Odor Improvement Project centered on the public-private regional council composed of livestock organizations, rice professional farmers, and related departments such as the county's Livestock and Fisheries Division.

Accordingly, it plans to support 1.22 billion KRW for the renovation of liquid manure storage tanks, liquid manure circulation systems, and solid-liquid separators for pig farms, and 4.33 billion KRW for supplying 120 tons of microbial agents to reduce odor by livestock type and for composting facilities such as skid loaders and small excavators, which are machinery and equipment that promote livestock manure fermentation.

A county official stated, “The issue of livestock odor improvement requires measures such as supporting manure treatment facility equipment through accurate cause diagnosis via professional consulting and discussions in the regional council,” and added, “We will continue efforts to create a sustainable agricultural and livestock environment where agriculture, livestock, and the environment are harmonized.”
