Hwasun-gun Accepts Applications for 'English Support Voucher' Until the 30th

[Hwasun=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Ji-woon] Jeollanam-do Hwasun-gun (Governor Gu Chung-gon) announced on the 13th that it will accept applications for the 'COVID-19 Overcome Aquaculture Support Voucher' from the 13th to the 30th of this month.

The Aquaculture Support Voucher is disaster relief funding to support aquaculture fishermen who are experiencing economic difficulties due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic.

The support targets fishing households that hold aquaculture licenses or permits between January 1 and December 31 of last year and are cultivating eligible species. The eligible species include a total of 15 fish species such as catfish, trout, carp, freshwater eel, loach, snakehead fish, Korean perch, and common carp.

Support is provided only if a decrease in sales or income compared to 2019 is proven through supporting documents.

The Aquaculture Support Voucher cannot be combined with other support programs such as the Small Business Support Fund Plus (Ministry of SMEs and Startups), Emergency Employment Stability Subsidy (Ministry of Employment and Labor), Temporary Livelihood Support Fund (Ministry of Health and Welfare), COVID-19 Overcome Farming Support Voucher (Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs), and COVID-19 Overcome Forestry Support Voucher (Korea Forest Service).

Fishing households wishing to apply must visit the industrial team at the administrative welfare center of the town or township where the aquaculture site is located by the 30th and submit the application form, various consent forms including personal information usage, resident registration certificate, qualification requirements, and documents proving sales decrease.

After reviewing qualifications and sales decrease, fishing households selected as final recipients will receive a 1 million KRW prepaid card from the National Federation of Fisheries Cooperatives (two prepaid cards worth 500,000 KRW each) starting from the 17th of next month.

The prepaid card can be used to purchase items necessary for aquaculture and daily necessities and must be used by September 30. Any remaining balance after the expiration date will be automatically forfeited.

A county official said, “We hope the COVID-19 Overcome Aquaculture Support Voucher will help aquaculture households affected by the sharp decline in dining-out demand due to gathering restrictions,” and added, “Please prepare all necessary supporting documents and apply within the application period.”
