21.58 Million Users in March Alone
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Cheol-hyun] The shopping application most used by Koreans this year is once again 'Coupang.' Coupang ranked first as the most used shopping app across all generations, from teenagers to people in their 50s.
On the 13th, app analytics service WiseApp announced the results of a survey on the usage status of shopping apps by generation among Korean smartphone (Android + iOS) users last month, revealing that Coupang was the app used by the most Koreans across all generations.
Coupang was used by 21.58 million people in March, followed by 11st with 7.45 million, Gmarket with 5.77 million, Wemakeprice with 4.49 million, TMON with 4.22 million, and Today’s House with 4.08 million users.
Usage patterns differed by generation. Teenagers used shopping apps in the order of Coupang, Ably, Zigzag, 11st, Musinsa, and StyleShare. People in their 20s used Coupang, Zigzag, Musinsa, Ably, and Idus in that order.
Those in their 30s used Coupang, 11st, Gmarket, Wemakeprice, TMON, and Today’s House. People in their 40s used Coupang, 11st, Gmarket, Wemakeprice, TMON, and GS SHOP. Those aged 50 and above used Coupang, 11st, Home&Shopping, Gmarket, GS SHOP, and Auction. This survey by WiseApp estimated the number of people who used each shopping app at least once in the past month, excluding secondhand trading apps, Naver, KakaoTalk, and others from the survey.
