[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Bo-kyung] Coupang announced on the 13th that it has opened the workplace daycare center 'Coukids' Seolleung branch to alleviate the childcare burden on its employees.
Coukids is a childcare facility integrating infant and early childhood education for children aged 1 to 5 years old. It provides professional childcare and educational services through consignment operation by the Hansol Children's Care Foundation.
The interior of the daycare center is designed to enhance children's imagination and creativity in daily life. Various play and experiential learning spaces are provided, including the playroom 'Dodamtteul,' where children can develop imagination through reading books, and 'Atelier,' a space for exploring objects and communication.
Programs called 'Dodamsol' are also conducted, offering various experiences through special activities such as physical education, music, and art, as well as nature experience activities. In particular, an English teacher will attend to provide an environment where children can naturally encounter English in their daily lives.
For the health of the children, a medical examination program is conducted in cooperation with nearby hospitals and public health centers, and thorough hygiene inspections, including disinfection and pest control activities, will be regularly carried out.
Last month, Coupang also opened the Coukids Wirye branch, a workplace daycare center for the children of delivery workers called Coupang Friends. The company plans to continue its best efforts to create a working environment where employees can balance work and childcare.
A Coupang official stated, "We will create a working environment that sets an example in the industry and ensure that this can be transformed into the best customer experience."
