Participation in 'ChinaPlas 2021' from the 13th
[Asia Economy Reporter Hwang Yoon-joo] LG Chem is accelerating its penetration into the Chinese market with eco-friendly materials and technologies such as recycled plastics, biodegradable plastics, and bio-based plastics.
LG Chem announced that it will participate in 'ChinaPlas 2021,' held in Shenzhen, China, from the 13th to the 16th for four days.
At the event, LG Chem will actively attract customers by showcasing a wide range of sustainable ESG products, including PCR ABS and White PCR PC as recycled plastics, PLA made from corn and PBAT as biodegradable polymers, Bio-SAP based on bio raw materials such as glucose extracted from corn, and eco-friendly plasticizers free of endocrine disruptors.
ChinaPlas is Asia's largest international plastics and rubber industry exhibition held annually in China, with over 3,600 global companies from more than 40 countries participating.
LG Chem has set up the largest booth among domestic participants, covering 400㎡, and will operate three zones under the theme 'Sustainable Life with LG Chem': Home Zone, Industry Zone, and Mobility Zone.
Each zone is operated with the concept of showcasing products applying LG Chem's eco-friendly materials in actual living spaces and industrial sites. In the Home Zone, visitors can see home appliances using recycled plastics and daily necessities made with bio-based materials; in the Industry Zone, welding hoses and NB latex gloves using eco-friendly plasticizers; and in the Mobility Zone, electric vehicle materials applying engineering plastics.
LG Chem is also running the exhibition booth with a digital technology-based eco-friendly 'Paperless Concept' to minimize paper usage.
Digital catalogs to help customers understand each zone have been created, and detailed information about the exhibited products can be accessed via QR codes.
Additionally, a separate 'DX Zone (Digital Transformation Zone)' has been set up to allow customers to experience the entire product purchase process?from ordering to production, packaging, and delivery?through digital screens. Eight lounges equipped for video meetings are also operated for customers wishing to communicate with the Korean headquarters.
Meanwhile, LG Chem entered the Chinese market in 1995 as the first domestic chemical company to establish a production corporation in China and currently operates 15 production and sales corporations, including its Chinese holding company located in Beijing.
