Guro-gu COVID-19 Vaccination Center Opens on the 15th

[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Guro-gu (Mayor Lee Sung) will begin COVID-19 vaccinations for elderly facilities and seniors aged 75 and over at the Guro-gu Community Center (Gamasan-ro 25-gil 21) starting on the 15th.

Guro-gu announced on the 13th, "Through a simulation drill on the 2nd, we thoroughly checked the vaccination process including vaccine preparation, administration, and adverse reaction monitoring, as well as ultra-low temperature freezers and electrical facilities for safe vaccine storage, and will begin full-scale operations on the 15th."

The vaccination targets are a total of 22,680 people, including 680 workers and users of elderly day and night care facilities who submitted vaccination consent forms, and 22,000 seniors aged 75 and over.

Guro-gu has set a daily vaccination target of 600 people on weekdays and 200 on Saturdays, deploying a total of 30 personnel including 5 doctors, 10 nurses, and 15 administrative staff to carry out vaccinations. From May, when the second dose begins, the number of personnel will be increased according to vaccine supply conditions.

Vaccination hours are from 9:00 AM to 4:30 PM on weekdays, and from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM on Saturdays.

The operation schedule may change depending on circumstances, and inquiries can be made to the vaccination call center.

Guro-gu plans to open a second center in May at the Oryu Culture Center (Gyeongin-ro 20ga-gil 38).

Starting with the initial vaccination targets on the 15th, this measure aims to increase accessibility for local residents and distribute the number of vaccinations, targeting about 200,000 people including the general local population by November this year.

A Guro-gu official stated, "We will do our best to ensure vaccinations are carried out safely," and urged, "We ask the target groups to actively cooperate with vaccinations to prevent community transmission and secure herd immunity."
