Civil, Public, and Academic Sectors Gather for Jungnang-gu Education!...Regular Meeting of the Education Development Committee Held On the 12th, the regular meeting of the Jungnang-gu Education Development Committee was held at the Planning Situation Room of Jungnang-gu Office, attended by Ryu Gyeong-gi, Mayor of Jungnang-gu (fifth from the left), and others.

[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Jungnang-gu (Mayor Ryu Kyung-gi) held the ‘Jungnang-gu Education Development Committee (Chairman Ryu Kyung-gi) Regular Meeting’ on the 12th.

At the meeting, opinions were exchanged regarding the direction of the district’s education support policies and the operation plans and program composition of the ‘Bang Jeong-hwan Education Support Center,’ which will be completed in May.

The Education Development Committee was established in November last year based on the ‘Ordinance on the Establishment and Operation of the Jungnang-gu Education Development Committee,’ and is composed of education experts from various sectors including the Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education, Eastern Education Support Office, school principals, parent associations, and innovation education officials. It serves as a governance role in the establishment and decision-making of education support policies and is a model case of public-private-academic cooperation projects.

Ryu Kyung-gi, Mayor of Jungnang-gu, said, “We will listen more closely to voices from the field through continuous meetings of the Education Development Committee,” and added, “Jungnang-gu is providing full support to improve the educational environment, including expanding the education budget to 7 billion KRW and constructing the Bang Jeong-hwan Education Support Center.”

The Bang Jeong-hwan Education Support Center, opening on May 4 in Sangbong-dong, is an educational complex facility that brings together the Education Support Center, Lifelong Learning Center, Career and Vocational Experience Support Center, and Education Welfare Center in one place. It is expected to serve as a control tower to strengthen regional educational competitiveness. The facility is the largest among Seoul’s autonomous districts, with 2 basement floors, 7 above-ground floors, and a total floor area of 1,813㎡.
