Seegene Obtains Export Approval for COVID-19 Diagnostic Kit Capable of Detecting Variants

[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Chun-hee] Seegene announced on the 12th that it has received export approval from the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety for two types of COVID-19 diagnostic kits capable of detecting variant viruses.

These products include one that can diagnose COVID-19 viruses, including variants prevalent in the United Kingdom and the Republic of South Africa, with a single test, and another that can distinguish the type of variant virus within two hours. Previously, they were certified as in vitro diagnostic reagents in Europe last month.

Based on this approval, Seegene plans to export these products to 23 European countries, including the United Kingdom, Germany, France, and Italy.
