Yangsan-si, Recruiting Participants for Urban Regeneration Village Activist Training Course

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Sang-hyun] Yangsan City, Gyeongnam Province, announced on the 12th that it will operate a training course for urban regeneration village activists in Yangsan City to facilitate the smooth promotion of urban regeneration and rural revitalization projects and to activate village-level communities.

The training course consists of 8 sessions each for the basic and advanced courses. The basic course is scheduled to be held twice a week (Mondays and Tuesdays) from May 10 to June 1 at the seminar room of the Yangsan City Business Center.

Qualification for completion requires attendance at 6 or more out of the total 8 lectures. The advanced course will be operated in the second half of this year for those who complete the basic course.

The training will be conducted through expert lectures by field, use of media by topic, on-site team-based education with mentor assignments, and collaboration among participants to solve joint tasks.

Eligibility for participation is open to any Yangsan citizen aged 18 or older who is interested in village activities. Applications can be made via the Yangsan City Urban Regeneration Support Center website or by phone. Selected candidates will be chosen through document screening of applicants.

A Yangsan City official said, “Since the establishment and operation of village-level communities are crucial for the smooth promotion of resident-centered and resident-led urban regeneration and rural revitalization projects, we expect the active role of field-centered experts nurtured through the urban regeneration village activist training course.”
