Heavy Rain with Strong Winds in Gwangju and Jeonnam Until the 13th

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Gwan-woo] Heavy rain accompanied by strong winds is expected in the Gwangju and Jeonnam regions until the 13th.

The Gwangju Regional Meteorological Administration announced on the 12th that due to a low-pressure system moving northeast near the Shandong Peninsula in China, rain clouds are forming and rain will continue until dawn the next day.

The expected rainfall during this period is 30-80mm near the southern coast of Jeonnam and around Jirisan, and 10-50mm in Gwangju and Jeonnam.

Heavy rain is expected from night to dawn in the southern coast and around Jirisan.

Very strong winds will also blow from the afternoon.

In the eastern southern coast of Jeonnam (Yeosu, Goheung), average wind speeds of 8-16 m/s and gusts exceeding 20 m/s are possible.

Other areas will also experience average wind speeds of 6-12 m/s and gusts over 20 m/s.

This strong wind is expected to continue until the 14th.

A brief cold spell with frost is expected on the morning of the 14th.

The morning low temperatures on the 13th and 14th will be 9-13℃ and 3-7℃, respectively, while the daytime highs will be 13-20℃ and 13-18℃.

A Gwangju Meteorological Administration official urged, “Visibility will be reduced and roads will be slippery in areas with rain, so please pay attention to traffic safety.”
