Robot Serving Service to Be Introduced at Restaurant 'Nix Grill' Over the Next 3 Months
Autonomous Driving and Voice Recognition Robots... "Enhancing Customer Safety and Improving Work Efficiency"
[Asia Economy Reporter Yuri Kim] Paradise Hotel Busan announced on the 12th that it will pilot the introduction of an artificial intelligence (AI) serving robot at its restaurant 'Nyx Grill' as part of strengthening non-face-to-face services.
Paradise Hotel Busan had introduced a kiosk system last October that allows self check-in and check-out to ensure customer safety. Through the introduction of the 'AI serving robot,' the hotel explained that it has expanded non-face-to-face services to food and beverage establishments and improved work efficiency through collaboration between staff and the serving robot.
The 'AI serving robot' was developed in-house by KT AI Robot Business Group and is equipped with 3D spatial mapping technology and autonomous driving technology. With precise driving technology, it can freely move through aisles between tables and flexibly avoid obstacles when detected.
Paradise Hotel Busan will deploy the 'AI serving robot' during the operating hours of 'Nyx Grill' for the next three months. After a staff member sets the table number, the robot safely and accurately delivers the meals ordered by customers placed on the robot's tray to the corresponding table. The robot can also conveniently transport dishes from tables after meals are finished.
A representative of Paradise Hotel Busan said, "As non-face-to-face services using cutting-edge technologies such as robots are rapidly spreading in the hotel industry, we quickly introduced robot serving services," adding, "Starting with this pilot operation, we plan to continuously review the expansion of non-face-to-face services using advanced technology in various service areas within the hotel."
