Gyeonggi-do to Conduct Survey on 'Rest Conditions for Vulnerable Workers' Until December

[Asia Economy Reporter La Young-cheol] Gyeonggi Province will conduct a "Survey on the Rest Conditions of Vulnerable Workers" in industrial complexes and other areas within the province from this month until December.

According to the province on the 12th, the survey will be conducted through a combination of questionnaires and interviews targeting vulnerable workers in the private sector working at small and medium-sized enterprises in manufacturing, sales, service, and construction industries in Gyeonggi Province.

The survey aims to verify the frequency and satisfaction of workers' use of rest facilities according to the government's regulations on the installation and operation of workplace rest facilities, the provision of appropriate rest time, and the actual utilization of these facilities.

Additionally, cases of laws and systems related to rest for foreign workers will be examined, along with necessary institutional improvement measures to guarantee rest rights.

Through this survey, the province plans to establish policy measures for rest facilities for vulnerable workers in the private sector, improve rest and break conditions for non-regular and small-scale business workers, and enhance the efficiency of ongoing rest facility improvement projects.

The "Sihwa Labor Policy Research Institute" will serve as the executing agency for the survey.
