Open weekdays from 8 AM to 5 PM, vaccination available from 9 AM to 4 PM
[Asia Economy Reporter Jong-il Park] Gangbuk-gu (Mayor Park Kyum-soo) will officially operate the COVID-19 vaccination center starting from the 15th.
Vaccinations will begin with seniors aged 75 and older residing in the area.
As of the 6th, 22,752 people who submitted consent forms are eligible. This number represents 82.9% of the total target population, significantly exceeding the benchmark of 70%.
Those who gave prior consent will receive a total of two vaccine doses at three-week intervals. The daily vaccination capacity is 600 people. The local community centers will individually notify recipients of their vaccination dates using the contact information on the consent forms. The district plans to set detailed vaccination schedules by neighborhood in order of the population size of those aged 75 and older. A 35-seat shuttle bus will also be operated. This transportation support is for seniors who have difficulty moving or do not have a caregiver. The bus will run back and forth between the key community centers and the vaccination center.
The vaccination center will open at Gangbuk Culture and Arts Center (85 Samgaksan-ro). It is highly accessible, located near the Ui-Sinseol Urban Railway (Gaori Station) and village bus (Gangbuk 1) routes leading to the center.
Operating hours are weekdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., with vaccinations available only from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. No vaccinations will be administered during lunch break (12 p.m. to 1 p.m.).
The staff consists of 4 doctors, 8 nurses, and 30 administrative personnel, with numbers increasing as needed.
The interior is divided into zones: ▲ Guidance and pre-screening form completion (1st floor lobby) ▲ Pre-screening and vaccination (1st floor Happiness Room) ▲ Observation for adverse reactions (1st floor gym) ▲ Vaccine management (1st floor office).
Vaccinations will be conducted in phases. Recipients complete a pre-screening form and go through identity verification at the reception desk. They then receive preliminary examination and vaccination in order of arrival, followed by a 15 to 30-minute observation period. If adverse reactions occur, emergency measures will be taken, and under medical staff judgment, patients will be transferred to designated hospitals (Daehan Hospital, Hanil Hospital).
Mayor Park Kyum-soo of Gangbuk-gu said, “We hope that the COVID-19 vaccinations proceed swiftly so that we can regain peaceful daily life as soon as possible,” and added, “We will do our utmost to ensure residents can receive vaccinations safely and comfortably until the day the vaccination center’s operation ends.”
