The Hong Kong South China Morning Post reported on the 11th that Gao Fu (高福), director of the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention, said at a conference on the 10th, "We also need to consider addressing the issue that the protection rate of the current vaccines is not high." The newspaper stated that this is the first time a prominent Chinese expert has publicly acknowledged the low effectiveness of Chinese-made COVID-19 vaccines. Director Gao said that to improve vaccine effectiveness, they are reviewing adjustments to the dosage, administration intervals, and the number of doses per person. He also confirmed that China is considering alternating vaccinations with vaccines using different technologies.
