Jinju City Installs Odor Reduction Facilities at Mang-gyeong Relay Pump Station on Namgang Riverside

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] Jinju City, Gyeongnam Province, announced on the 11th that it has installed odor reduction facilities at the Mang-gyeong relay pump station, which had caused damage to users of the Namgang riverside sports facilities and nearby residents due to odor emissions, and has begun operation.

The sewage relay pump station is a facility equipped with pumps and other equipment that transport domestic sewage from each household to public sewage treatment facilities. The Mang-gyeong relay pump station was installed and has been operating since 1994 to transfer sewage from the Sinan, Pyeonggeo, Panmun, and Sangbong district intercepting sewers.

A city official stated, "We will do our best to manage the relay pump station by operating stable odor reduction facilities to prevent the spread of odors around the Mang-gyeong relay pump station."
