[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Jung-yoon] When news broke that former President Roh Tae-woo experienced breathing difficulties prompting a 119 ambulance dispatch, his eldest daughter, Noh So-young, director of the Art Center Nabi, stated on the 10th that "there was a problem with the respiratory assist device."
On the same day, Noh posted on her Facebook under the title "My Father's Patience," revealing this information.
She also wrote, "(My father's diagnosis) is a rare disease called cerebellar atrophy, but the cerebrum is unaffected, so he retains consciousness and thought," adding, "This is an even greater pain." She continued, "He communicates through eye movements, but when he has something he really wants to say and communication fails, his entire face collapses into a crying expression," and said, "This is my father crying. No sound comes out."
Noh added, "Yesterday, we overcame another critical moment," and said, "I do not know how much time my father has left on this earth, but he has given me a definite lesson: patience."
Earlier, at around 6:38 p.m. the previous day, a report was received that former President Roh was experiencing breathing difficulties, and an ambulance was dispatched. However, as his condition improved shortly after the report, the paramedics on site reportedly did not perform any emergency treatment or hospital transfer and returned. Former President Roh, who is 89 years old this year, has been receiving ongoing hospital treatment for chronic illnesses such as asthma.
