[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Yuri] The hotel industry is focusing on food and beverages by prominently featuring appetizing dishes to welcome spring.


Park Roche Resort & Wellness, located in Jeongseon, Gangwon Province, is offering a 'Korean Dinner Course' and 'Jeongseonfull Waffle Set' that allow guests to feel the spring energy of Gangwon Province.


The Korean course, available from 6 PM to 9 PM at the Korean restaurant Park Kitchen, uses seasonal ingredients from the Gangwon region to highlight the natural flavors of the ingredients while adding a modern touch to traditional Korean cuisine, providing a new gourmet experience. The menu includes duck perilla seed porridge with potato ongshimi, spring energy-filled durupjeon (Korean-style pancake with shoots), and isulsongi mushroom boiled pork slices served with spring vegetable salad. For the main dish, guests can choose between grilled sea bream or Australian flower sirloin steak. Dessert features Gangwon Province’s Chodang corn with matcha crumble, accompanied by coffee or tea. The price is 72,000 KRW per person. For an additional 18,000 KRW per person, a glass of red or white wine is offered as a pairing beverage.


At Roche Cafe, until May 31, the 'Jeongseonfull Waffle Set' is available for a limited time, made using local ingredients such as gondre (wild vegetable), honeycomb, and buckwheat. The waffles are homemade and come in two varieties: gondre waffle made with Jeongseon’s signature ingredient gondre mixed into the batter, and walnut waffle. The set is topped with honeycomb harvested from a nearby farm, injeolmi cream, vanilla ice cream, and buckwheat toppings. The Jeongseonfull Waffle Set is priced at 36,000 KRW for two people and is served with coffee, black tea, or herbal tea.

The Courtyard Marriott Seoul Times Square Hotel’s restaurant, Momo Cafe, is presenting the 'Chao Chao' promotion featuring a variety of Chinese dishes until May 30. Guests can enjoy a buffet with dishes such as Youji (roast chicken), Chinese-style pork ribs, Paljinchomyeon (eight treasure noodles), Fuzhou salad, and Chinese-style seafood sauce.


Signature dishes include Chinese-style pork ribs marinated and roasted for 24 hours with various spices including the five-spice powder, and Baiqieji (white-cut chicken), one of the eight major Cantonese dishes. The chicken is boiled plainly without spices, allowing guests to enjoy the natural flavor of the chicken prepared only with ginger and green onions. Sichuan-style Jajangmyeon is stir-fried with Doubanjiang (fermented bean paste), vegetables, pork, and seafood, offering a spicy flavor. Sanlatang, a representative dish from Sichuan province, is characterized by its sour and spicy taste. Additionally, Huiguorou, a Chinese dish where pork is boiled whole, thinly sliced, and stir-fried with various vegetables in oil, is also available.


The buffet is served for lunch and dinner from Thursday to Saturday, and for lunch on Sunday. Prices are 42,000 KRW for weekday lunch, 55,000 KRW for weekday dinner, and 65,000 KRW for weekend and holiday lunch and dinner (tax and service charge included). Reservations made through Naver offer a 10-20% discount depending on the day.

Haevichi Hotel & Resort Jeju includes a picnic lunch box in its 'Spring in Jeju' package available until May 31.


When booking the package, guests receive a lunch box and outdoor picnic items packed in a 'charong,' a bamboo basket-shaped container named after the Jeju dialect. The charong lunch box contains the chef’s handmade sandwiches and rice balls made with Jeju ingredients such as abalone, bracken, canola flowers, black pork, and Cheonhyehyang citrus, along with green tea madeleines, columnar joint pie, and Cheonhyehyang juice. It also includes a Koksicle tumbler, picnic mat, and cherry blossom stickers, which are useful for outdoor outings. Additionally, a picnic basket rental service is offered on a first-come, first-served basis for six rooms per day.


The package includes a one-night stay at either the hotel or resort. Benefits are provided for two people at the hotel and four people at the resort. Breakfast and access to indoor and outdoor swimming pools are included, and hotel guests can rent Bang & Olufsen wireless speakers on a first-come, first-served basis. Package prices start from 334,000 KRW.
