Leading Construction Brands Including Jeil Construction Raise Expectations for Forest-Adjacent Residential Complex Development in Iksan City's Premium Urban Forest Area

Iksan City, the first in the province to start the ‘Luxury Urban Forest’ creation project, has announced the groundbreaking news, raising expectations that the area will leap forward as a healing city. In particular, several construction companies, including Jeil Construction, have announced new apartment sales along with the luxury urban forest project, drawing the attention of local demanders who had been struggling with a shortage of housing sites for new housing supply.

First, Jeil Construction plans to build about 1,500 households in Sudosan Park, where residents can enjoy the spaciousness of a forest zone, and GS Construction plans to supply about 1,440 households in Madong Park. Additionally, Joongheung Construction is planning to build 960 households in Moin Park.

Starting with the groundbreaking ceremony held at Madong Park on this day, the Moin and Sudosan neighborhood park creation projects will proceed. Subsequently, large-scale urban forests will be created in the east, west, south, and north around the city center, extending to Palbong Park and Sorasan Park.

Through this creation project, Iksan City plans to provide citizens with nature-friendly resting places by creating various convenience facilities and emotional walking trails in existing park areas, and to build apartments in damaged areas that have lost their function as parks. The city will simultaneously fill the area with the most needed urban parks and branded apartments such as Jeil Construction’s own brand ‘Jeil Punggyeongchae’ and GS Construction’s ‘Xi’.

The luxury urban forests will be developed as citizen parks that reflect the characteristics of each zone.

Madong Park will be developed on approximately 240,000㎡ of land in the Madong area under the theme of ‘Creating an educational and experiential space where youth can realize their dreams.’ This place will be transformed into a landscape garden, tennis courts, and other facilities for youth leisure activities and experiences, including an ecological education site for youth and children.

Moin Park is planned to be developed on about 120,000㎡ in the Sindong area under the theme of ‘A cultural playground where youth become One.’ It is expected to include a forest library (book pavilion), a youth plaza, and a forest library book pavilion, which are spaces for contemplation and reading using the forest. In addition, a traditional culture performance hall, which will serve as a place for traditional cultural experiences linked with the nearby National Intangible Cultural Heritage Integrated Training Center, is also planned.

Sudosan Park will be developed on about 340,000㎡ in the Geumgang-dong area under the theme of ‘Creating a complex community space in the southern region,’ with various facilities to improve citizens’ quality of life. A complex cultural center and an indoor swimming pool linked with a sports park are planned, along with a birthstone garden themed on birthstone paths, birth flowers, and birth trees.

In addition to these, Palbong Park and Sorasan Park will also be developed as eco-friendly, resident-friendly parks reflecting the characteristics of each zone.

Jung Heon-yul, mayor of Iksan City, said, “The parks created through this project are expected to become urban oases that add health and happiness to citizens’ lives,” and added, “We will also do our best to create forest zone residential complexes embracing the parks.”
