[Asia Economy Reporter Jumi Lee] Broadcaster Kim Eo-jun criticized former Democratic Party lawmaker Kim Hae-young, who cited the causes of the Democratic Party's crushing defeat in the April 7 by-elections as the 'Cho Kuk incident, the conflict between Choo Mi-ae and Yoon Seok-youl, and real estate failures,' saying, "He is not a principled figure but rather isolated because he lacks consensus."
On the 9th, on TBS Radio's 'Kim Eo-jun's News Factory,' Kim targeted former lawmaker Kim, saying, "Usually, those who are least helpful to the election on the losing side are the first to speak unhelpfully," and made this remark.
He added, "There are always people who come out and speak at times like this," and claimed, "They are praised as principled figures by places like the Chosun Ilbo, but if you follow their words, you will fail."
Earlier, former lawmaker Kim, who gained attention for his principled remarks in the 20th National Assembly, pointed out on his Facebook on the 8th, "There are definitely parts that must be clearly addressed for the Democratic Party's proper reflection and innovation," and pinpointed "the Cho Kuk incident, the issue between former Minister of Justice Choo Mi-ae and former Prosecutor General Yoon Seok-youl, and real estate failures."
He criticized, "I think the Democratic Party made a huge mistake in the Cho Kuk incident," and said, "Even now, I cannot understand why the party tried so hard to protect former Minister Cho Kuk."
He continued, "If someone other than former Minister Cho had been in that position, it would have been different," and argued, "Pushing forward with former Minister Cho amid such national resistance was unthinkable."
Regarding former Minister Choo, he pointed out, "The party failed to restrain her rough behavior and reckless ministerial conduct that disregarded procedures," and said, "In pushing for the complete removal of prosecutorial investigation rights (Geomsu Wanbak), she only gave former Prosecutor General Yoon Seok-youl a pretext to resign."
He also added, "If the Democratic Party had focused its efforts on real estate issues as it did on prosecutorial reform, the real estate problem would not have become this serious."
